strange neighborhood

Offline
as most if not all of you know i live in stamford ct. a very quiet place to live, lately rather sad events have taken place, one of our neighbors was killed in that upstate buffalo n.y. plane crash like a week ago, then day before yesterday a neighbors chimp went berzerko and attacked a woman bighting of all her fingers and mauling her face, cops had to shoot the chimp eight times to kill it, yesterday a nearby bank was robbed, what the heck is going on?, they say things happen in threes, i hope its over.

We've had weird stuff over the past couple of years, and I don't see it ending anytime soon. A dismembered body in a bag a couple miles from here alongside the road I take to work - that was last year I think. A couple weeks ago the bank a mile from here was robbed, then two more were hit by the same guy a couple days ago.

This is a quiet rural area but cars are getting broken into constantly and houses occasionally. The latest house-to-house scam involved teams of people posing as utility workers, cable or satellite TV installers, or county workers; one will get the homeowner out of the house (using any number of reasons, they need to see in the back yard - etc) and the others go in and steal whatever they can.

I just got a report where a neighbor was mugged in the middle of the day in a parking lot at a small and relatively nice shopping area. Two days ago FHP was involved in a 120mph chase that ended when the woman causing the chase pointed a gun at them.

...and it isn't even bike-week yet.

The peak of weirdness for me was late last year I heard something in the woods next to my house one night around 11pm. It sounded too big to be one of the normal animals I see around here, so I grabbed my mag-light and went out to look. I figured I'd see a boar or hopefully a panther. Instead I found a guy trying to hide in the bush wearing a very definite "oh crap I've been caught" expression. We stared at each other for 30 seconds, but not having armed myself with anything more than the mag-light I told the guy if he intended on seeing daylight again he'd get as far from me as possible. The Sheriff's officers showed up about 5 minutes later. Turns out he'd been seen several times in the area trying to get into houses. He hasn't seen back after that night though.

I live in a small village just outside of winnipeg
Our local police had a tip that there was going to be a break in on a street that had some new expensive housing. They and with the help of the city police moved the people out and occupied the houses.
The crooks did indeed break in and it happened to be one of the houses occupied by our chief of police. He was the kind of guy you didn't want trouble with.Imagine the surprise of the break in guys when the lights went on and were told move and you're dead.
Due to the amount of publicity about this story there was a long spell of quiet and no break ins or robberies in our village.

IMHO, the state of the economy and the dumbing down of our educational system has left a lot of people with no choice but take what's yours.
Thats why I keep a gun in every room of the house and in the shop. Not that I'm afraid, but I don't want to find a bad guy between me and the gun under the bed. I live on a busy street but the house is 300' off the road, and the homeless walk up and the street day and night, and have found them sleeping in the shrubery.
When you get to be my age, you have to be careful and prepared.
Heard an interview the other day, older black man saying that when he was a kid, he was not afraid to die. But now, a kid was not afraid to kill.
What is the world coming too, and how do we change it?

These are strange times indeed. Evidence is everywhere big and small. Individually you might not take notice but collectively it is undeniable that "something <different> this way comes"....

In my work as a Healing Arts Practitioner, I have studied many different modalities including the field of Energy Work. Energy Work is based on working with the energy or electromagnetic fields of the body. Disruptions of the energy fields of the body can be experienced as soreness, headaches or worse.

There are electromagnetic fields in EVERYTHING. It is the basic component of atoms. An atom consist of a proton which has a positive charge and an electron which has a negative charge and a neuron. The interaction of the proton and electron causes the formation of the atom. Interactions of multiple atoms causes the formation of molecules and so on and so on, all based on the core electromagnetic field of the atom.

Various things can and do affect these EMF's. Solar flares, positioning of the planets, the moon, etc. I know all of us have heard the expression or even observed it ourselves when strange things happen "Oh, it's a full moon! No wonder...." If that is a little "too far out there" for you, consider this: tides are the rising of Earth's ocean surface caused by the tidal forces of the Moon and the Sun acting on the oceans. The gravitational pull of the sun and the moon on the earth affect the planet's ocean. Gravity is an EMF.

Humanity has dramatically impacted these EMF's in recent times. 25 years ago there were no cell phones, satellite TVs or wireless internet, etc. What is the effect of all this on the naturally occuring EMFs around us? We are fairly certain the EMFs of cell phones disrupt cellular activity in our bodies. Migration patterns of birds have been disrupted. Modern technology has given us the ability to produce Electromagnetic Pulses or EMP's which can disrupt the electronic and electrical activity of things.

A major electrical thing all living things have is a brain. Brain activity and function is a series of complex electromagnetic signals and pulses. Is it any wonder that we've seen dramatic increases in things like ADD, ADHD, Dementia and memory loss and the like??

Whatever your opinion about this may be, at the very least it is, as Arsenio Hall used to say, something to make you go "Hhhhmmmmmmmmm......"

Gravity is not an electromagnetic field.

And the force that attracts electrons to protons is electrostatic force, not electromagnetic force.

A magnetic force is the thing that attracts iron to a magnet.

Yes, Anthony. Have some bad eggs here, too. Here in Chester County, PA, the town of Coatesville has been plagued by an arsonist since early last year. With over 40 arsons, it was getting so bad at one point that folks were sleeping on their porches with loaded guns. Law enforcement was really worried that innocent people could get hurt. They have had dozens of expert , local, state and federal trying to break the case and finally this week they arrested 2 local men in their late teens. I just hope they were the only ones involved.

around here we dont dial 911

Nah, by and large, a crook is a crook...rarely does the economy produce crooks - bad parents, gangs, DNA, whatever makes crooks....a bad economy might bring out the crook in them, but they were always crooks!

Well said, Tony.

As the economy has fizzled, police departments have reported big increases in burglaries, thefts and vandalism. Neighborhood watch groups say that with police so busy and resources thin, members know they have to be vigilant.

I live close to the downtown of a major city (just for perspective)

But I've always been of the opinion that crime happens wherever there are people, one might argue that you hear of more crime in a large city simply because there are more people there, any crime can happen anywhere

I believe in vigilance and paying attention to what's going on around, certainly whenever I walk through downtown, somewhere I spend lots of time... But I'm not going to let myself get scared and stop living life just because crime could happen...

Back in December at 11:30 in the evening on a weekend, a young man was stabbed to death through what police said was a chance encounter... Two weeks later I walked by the exact same spot at about 12:30 AM on the way back from an event, of course I exercise caution when walking downtown at that time of night, but it doesn't mean I stop going out

That's my perspective anyway... FWIW
