Strange MG ebay auction

Is that a joke or mistake?

& he has no clue how to properly lower the top!

OMG could those letters possibly get any bigger? ROFL!

OMG! I have NEVER seen a font that big! ROFLMAO!!!!!

And just in case anyone is interested, here is the text. Notice the NADA value of $15,700 for a daily driver '75 MGB. Good luck! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

75 MG Sportster 50th Year Anniversary Edition

New Wiring
Rebuilt Engine has 10,000 miles on it
Carpet in good shape, Seats have no tears, Drivers armrest showing some wear, 29,297 miles on odometer, but actual mileage is unknown.
Oil guage, tach, temperature gauge, and speedometer in cluster
# on the tag on the dash: MGB North America 10-4426
The paint is in good condition
The convertible top is new
Tonneau cover has one small tear
New battery
4 speed tranny

This is a beautiful car. It is not a show car as there are slight imperfections in the bodywork under the paint. However, it is a daily driver and has promise to become a show car with a little more work. As you can see from the pictures, this car is an attention getter.
Bid now as this one will sell to the highest bidder.
NADA value: $15,700
NO RESERVE! WINNING BIDDER TAKES IT! MOVING AND MUST SELL TOYS!

I don't know... If a TR4 can fetch $97k, why not? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Mickey

$15.7K? Me thinks not.

But Steve...it has that "special" 50th Anniversary badge on the dash! That alone HAS to increase the value of this B by at least...$12k or so?!

A friend of mine got a '75 MGB w/ 27,000 miles, all original and very very well preserved (not restored) for $1,000.00 last year. He had to go through the brakes (new master cylinder, lines, etc.), replace the original tires, and do some other various cleaning and tuning, but in the end, he had a very nice, unmolested driver around $2,000. Probably worth slightly more than twice that, but no more.

I hope the eBay guy doesn't have plans for the 15 grand.

I'm positive he's going to get it and then some. A buyer from England/Canada/France/Nigeria will purchase it for his client and will arrange all shipping. Unfortunately the his client has already made out the money order for 20,000. So if you could kindly cash the money order and send the difference back along with the car all will be well.

Those alone lower the price considerably for me.

Gee really? I did not know an auction worked that way!!!!

NADA agrees with you- he's picked off the "high retail" price, ignoring both the average and low retail; and slipping past the dealer vs private seller issue as well.

A bit shady.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

Similar 24 carat Gold ones would sell for millions..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Perhaps the large font in the ad gives an indication as to this seller's poor vision...

Scott Hower,

I wouldn't have any other cars in my garage. I envy you!

He probably sees OK- just straining a little, looking for someone a bit gullible... or ignorant.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
