Can anyone identify where these go? Picture approximately full size.

It looks to me like: Rear engine seal by the crank shaft. They have to be trimmed.

What kind of gasket set were they in? 100 or 3000, botom end or cylinder head, or some other application? I've been thru lots of gasket sets for 3000s and don't remeber seeing anything like these.
I can't picture anything on a 3000 that is shaped like that.

Let us know when you solve the mystery.

Red57, envision these placed on their sides when inserted into the rear engine slots. Oil pan or rear cover removed to actually see them in place. GONZO

Gonzo, not sure what you are referring to. There are cork pieces at the front and rear main caps that are 1/4" square and straight, no L shape to them, otherwise there are the round pieces of felt that go in the main caps.
I don't see them on the Moss drawing, if you can find them on the Moss drawing, what number are they? Admittedly it's been a couple of years since I had mine apart but I sure don't remember anything like the ones Steve asked about.
Thanks.

Dave

PS, In my experience it is not uncommon for gasket sets to have a few pieces that fit some other application because it is cheaper/easier for the suppliers to include a few extra pieces that to have even more parts to inventory in a warehouse.

Sounds like they're not Healey. I got them ages ago in a conversion gasket set.
