Stove question

So I think this happened last time but thought I would check. Today I took the burners off our gas stove to deep clean to stove top - I even unscrewed and washed the bases. This a stove with the "sparkplug" like sparkers. I reassembled exactly as was and now when I start one burner the one to the left (or right) starts igniting too - though it is just the spark as the gas isn't on.

I suspect it is just that it hasn't fully dried yet (I think it happened before) but I am looking for some reassurance.

Run!

Yeah, let it dry out. There's probably water in the gas tube.

A small fan or hair dryer (just cold air) might dry it out a bit quicker.

If I read your post correctly, You are just talking about the ignitors? That may be normal. My stoves (and I think most) ignitors all spark at the same time. Each burner does not have a separate circuit.

Exactly

Mine does it every second after a cleaning. Tic, tic, tic ...for about three hours. The tic slows as it dries. No worries, par for the course.

Just went and checked again - it's all good! thanks for the reassurance. Do you suppose I should tell wife and daughter they don't have to sleep in the garage after all? Maybe in the morning. :jester:
