I have a couple of spare unassembled master cylinders I'm not using. What the best way to store them so that the bores don't corrode?
 
I'd spray them down with WD40 and put 'em in ziplock bags. The WD40 can easily be cleaned off when they're needed.
 
BAH!!! WD-40 is a (W)ater (D)isplacement compound. Water AVID in real life.

Smear the bores of unassembled cylinders with <any> GREASE, fercryinoutloud.

Best to use Girling's product made for use on assembly of brake hydraulics. But if you intend to store the cylinders before rebuilding, the main thing is to prevent rust/corrosion so any grease will do. Just be thorough at cleaning before rebuild.
 
Heh.. Bacon grease... What IS that I smell? A refreshing change from following a fryer oil diesel conversion.
