Got a call at work this morning..

YOUR CAR IS STOLEN

Some axxxxxx stole my 1973 Spitfire 1500
Comm # FM812U

police report filed and hoping for the best...

Don, What does it look like? I see a lot of cars through here and I'll keep an eye out for it if it makes it over here.

SD,

Resale red
black top
black tonneau
silver minilite replica rims
Beige seats/black interior

what do you think they would try to do with it? maybe some kids joy riding? doubt you could get it out of the country with out a bill of sale and title, selling parts would be difficult on ebay or on CL

My guess....one of our local druggies needed a ride....

Left a schwinn mountain bike and a bundle on newspapers stoles from the local mart

Did the car have a valid PA lic. plate?

SD,

Was insured, tagged, inspected and driven as much as I could....

You still have that M16 shown in your avatar? Just askin......

na the M-14 stayed in Afghanistan....took me 9 months of crap there to get that car.....

The .45 auto is at the ready...

I'll keep an eye out online and down here. Lemme know if there is anything I can do.

Get us a pic when you can please.

Prints on the bike?

Too bad you didn't catch him in the act. The 45 would have worked well.

I'll keep my eyes open over New England as well.

Have you alerted eBay and CraigsList with the VIN?

This is every man's nightmare, and the reason I want to put a live satellite tracker in my Morgan (running a TR4 engine)

By your description below, sounds like a nice car. May be worth finger printing the bike and have them run by your police to find out who this is.

If you had a key hidden in the car, it's likely you know the thief.

Otherwise search Ebay and Craigs List for parts that you know are unigue to your car, or spitfire model parts by seller in your area (couldn't have come from too far, being on a bike)

Sorry to hear, didnt see any matching your description at the Vintage this weekend. Will keep my eye out.

OK!.I just put out an APB nation wide.If its ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEWHERE then we :grouphug: will BE ON THE LOOKOUT.SO if this guy is >here< WATCH YOUR BACK because the car IS HOT!
It will be easy to pickout, these cars standout in a crowd.

It's someone who knows how to drive a standard.
Not many kids now know how to do that.

I'm in the Lehigh Valley, I'll keep an eye out for it. Watch Craigslist.

Oh, Don....
That is horrible! :eeek: Praying that your Spitfire is returned to you without any harm and that the culprit(s) are brought to justice. So sad.

First of all, Thanks to the entire BCF community for your help and support....

Basil, you have an amazing group of people here....thanks for giving us a place to meet...

Finally got word from the State Police in Hazleton, PA...They found the car down an embankment while responding to some garage break-in calls..

Car was processed for fingerprints..(now covered in print dust) and I retrieved it yesterday...

Damage was light....took a shot in the front bumper from a tree and bent the turn signal facia back into the left front tire and dented the bumper...broke the drivers interior door handle... feels like a driveshaft U-joint is damaged and the bonnet is off kilter a bit and needs to be aligned.

The city police have a street camera on the corner next to the house and may have a pic of the person...also the quickie mart on the corner has 24hr camera security....no arrests have been made to my knowledge....

and don't get me started on the lack of communication between the different police forces....Basil will wind up giving me the boot...
