Hi folks,
Simple question I hope, that I can't answer in search. What was the stock seat belt color for a BJ8 with the dark blue leather interior? Body in Healey Blue over OEW.
Thanks!

According to the Clausager book, seat belts were a dealer installed item. Seems doubtful they ever came in anything other than black.

A very nice 'factory' set went on Ebay UK this week for lots of money. They were light grey.

I bought my seat belts from Quickfit Safety Belts in the UK. They will make belts in a multitude of colors. I was able to match my interior with a belt from them... not cheap, but it only hurts once

Thanks guys. I would try and get some to match the blue interior but I would likely never be happy with the match, so it's best I just stick with black.

I'm happy with the navy blue belts I got from seatbeltplanet.com:

They had to be custom made. If you have an interest, PM me and I'll give you the details.

Pics of two different sets of seat belts. One set still has the brand name on it. I tried to reply to your post but probably goofed up the message trying to get the images downloaded and uploaded.

Thanks for posting the pics, Patrick. Good to see what was in the cars originally. Just for fun, I googled the U.S. Safety Weave Corp to see if they were sill around. Here's what I found:

"Peugeot service bulletin no 72d72032.manfd btwn july and dec.1967.under testing, seat belts supplied by u.s.safety weave company failed to meet load requrements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no.209.(correct by replacing seat belts.)" :rolleyes2:
