Wonderful! I particularly love the various interchanges of miles/km/hundredths/sixteenths. Also the fact that they send an American driver first in case there is a problem.

When the car enters the salt flats, the trailer is pulled by a '57 Chevy - but the car behind is british, anyone recognize it? Looks like a morris minor rear end.
 
I wondered about that as well. Vauxhall, maybe?
 
I want the truck that was used to transport the car from Abindgon to the Queen Mary! :laugh: I think I MIGHT be able to afford one of those! LoL It WOULD be cool to drive up to a car show with my MGB on one.... :smile:
 
Vauxhall - meh! since when would MG use a Vauxhall.

I votes Morris Isis Traveller. It amazes me how regularly I see a picture of a car I never saw before. The most recent other was the Fiat 2300 in the VW ad elsewhere on the forum.

The American guinea pig was none other than Phil Hill. I read where he had a problem with raw gas fumes in one of the trial runs. When he backed off of the throttle to slow down fumes filled the inside. They didn't mention that in the video.

The whole story is in a book "Maintaining the Breed" by John Thorley, I think. Interesting reading for gearheads.
 
The same MG was faster with Phil Hill driving the next year.
