Congrats!
We have a pizza guy that drives his MBG MGB to work all year 'round....I'm pretty sure it's his only car.
My "record" in my B was 200 miles in one day, but man, was I sore afterwords (the car was fine).
I drove MGBs daily for a couple of decades. I always had to put the late-model seats (72-75) with the early rubber diaphragms (<67) to keep my back in one (1) piece though.
I guess my "record" would've been the Tuesday night at 8:30 PM that I left New Orleans and drove until Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM when I checked into a motel in El Cajon, California. So, 1800 miles, give or take, in about 32 hours.
I did sleep some on the way though; I (VIVIDLY) remember stopping to fill up w/gas, using the restroom and then pulling my car under an overhead light to take a nap (sometime early morning__still dark). At some point after sunup, I wake up and saw that lightpole immediately in front of me (thinking I had fallen asleep while driving) and jumped on the brake pedal so hard, the wheels should've shot off sideways! I bounced around in the car, hitting my head on the top bows, and once the adrenilin settled out, I laughed my a$$ off!
Immediately before checking into the motel, I had driven through a genuine sandstorm going through the desert; I had sand everywhere (top was down). I put my camera (Canon F1 w/ motor & 200mm F-2.8) inside my shirt to protect it as much as possible. I figured by the top time I stopped and erected the removeable top (stashed in the trunk) the car would've filled up like a sandbox, so why bother?
Oh, what was the question, again?
