Isn't jealousy one of the 7 deadly sins?

I love that photo.
hehehe...yep, one of the cardinal sins...Mickey can probably name them all, for me gluttony is the one I have to watch!

Glad I have a 4-post lift & a QuikLift so I'm not jealous!

But, then there is vanity - another of the cardinal sins!

My got. We need a video of you getting a car out.

A friend and I were thinking about making a video from stills showing the cars coming in and out but never got around to it.

We also had another fun idea but it required flash knowledge and neither of us have enough to pull it off. Any flash programmers up or a challenge?

Perhaps, but where would I put the TF? I'm actually planning to sell a car in the near future. When there are this many cars, it means some don't get driven enough. And if you don't drive a car then there's no reason to own it. Kinda like owning the Mona Lisa and never looking at it.

But which of your children would you part with?

Q: "How do you get all those cars IN there?!?"

A: "Very CAREFULLY!"

Well, the only reason I still have six cars is that I can't bring myself to let one go. Unfortunately the logical choice is the Y-Type. There may be a new purchase in the not-too-distant future, so I'm not sure how we will deal with another addition.

Why the Y?

Only so much time to drive, after all. Nothing wrong with cycling a few different cars through the garage.

Does Tony need a Y-Type?

Tony NEEDS a YB!!

But, I disagree with "if you don't drive a car then there's no reason to own it. Kinda like owning the Mona Lisa and never looking at it." I go out & look at all of mine every day! I play with them, work on them, sit in them, & drive 5 or 6 of them each summer....but more importantly, I'm slowly bringing every one of them back to 'as they left the factory' condition....I consider my garage a temple!

That's a very fair question. Before I answer, I will explain the process required to move the cars around.

First, look at the photo of the garage. Now remember that there's another M.G. in the driveway as well as my wife's modern daily driver. Imagine you want to go for a drive through the countryside in the Y-Type. So you open he garage door and begin the process...

1. Move the B from the driveway to the street.
2. Move the MGC out of the garage to the street.
3. Move the TC out of the garage out to the street.
4. Lower the lift.
5. Move the YB off the lift, and out to the street.
6. Raise the lift.
7. Move the TC from the street to the garage.
8. Move the MGC from the street to the garage.
9. Move the B from the street to the driveway.

As you close the garage door, sweating and dirty, you realize you just spent 30 minutes getting ready to go for a drive. As an added bonus, you get to repeat the entire process when you get home!

Now that you understand one of the reasons why I might want to thin the heard, lets move on to the original question... why the Y?

Since the YB is used the least of the six cars, it is a logical choice to occupy one of the lifts. Considering now difficult it is to get the car out and back in when I want to take it somewhere, the end result is that it is rarely ever driven. If I'm not driving it, then it's really just a waste of space because selling a car would empty the center space in the garage. This not only makes getting a car off the lift MUCH easier, it also clears 60 square feet of work space in the garage.

That's why the Y. I'm not happy about it but it's the logical choice.

On the bright side, I have a list of people lined up to give me my asking price. Maybe I should have asked for more!

Tony, if you enjoy the cars then that's enough reason to own them. My hobby is driving vintage sports cars. I work on them, but that's a necessary part of the hobby rather than the reason for my being involved in it.

If a person's hobby is working on cars, or collecting cars, then that's great. Since I'm a driver before anything else, there is no reason for me personally to "collect" cars.

I will admit that if I had the space, I would keep the YB even though it gets used the least. I am not willing however to pay to store it remotely. That's just silly!

I only had 2 Brit cars and couldn't justify keeping both.

I think I put 200 miles on the DeLo in 2 years.

Things started going wrong w/ it for lack of use.

Think if you were unrestrained...

Maybe this is actually a good thing
