Steve's famous again

Well I'll be. My car is on the Bring a Trailer site! Never saw that one coming.

We actually drove up Friday afternoon. Took the 101 to San Luis Obispo and then Route 1 the last 170 miles.

Sure looked like a fun event, even with the questionable weather.

Easily my favorite drive. I've always wanted to make that drive with my B. As soon as it's up for the task, I'll be doing it as well.

Route 1 is one of the finest drives in the world, hands down. It's a trip everyone should make at least once in their lifetime. We plan to drive our '49 TC along this route all the way from So Cal to Canada in a couple years.

Drew, the weather was only wet on Saturday morning. It sprinkled a bit in early afternoon but the roads were dry half way through the day. Sunday was beautiful although a bit windy and cool.

Thanks for sharing the photos, Rob! It was great to meet you in person and see that big union jack "flying" on top of your car. Post the videos on You tube if you can!

Steve's famous here in N.Y. too. The pic on his website of all his cars packed into his garage made it into our club's newsletter.
I opened it up an said HEY! I know that guy.

Thats my black roadster with the poorly folded top in the shot of the cars in the pit lane! A great event for us MG guys and gals. They really didn't hold us to the 35 mph limit on the drive either!

Unless you got stuck near the back. There were some really slow people out there. At one point there was almost half a lap between one car ahead of us and the rest of the group.

Frustrating! :wall:

I had that problem on Sunday, but pulled over to the wall to report some car parts on the track at the #4 braking marker for turn 2 and waited for everyone to go by.Before that I was stuck behind one of the racers driven by a friend of the owners and she was slow and all over the track. One of the MGVR guys towed from New Hampshire winning the longest tow award from the Pebble Beach Sports Car Club, Pete Thelander with a 1934 MG NE winnig club favorite from the PBSCC and the burgundy BGT winning fastest Weber powered MG award from Pierce Manifolds.
Al Moss was there driving and signing his book.

I was stuck behind the same racer driven by the wife / friend / whoever and I'm pretty sure I saw you pull out. I think you were just ahead of me, unless it was someone else.

"I think you were just ahead of me, unless it was someone else."

LOL, right.

Actually they are single post lifts.

Thanks Ed. The lifts were custom made by a company who has since outsourced to China. If you're interested in one, I can hook you up with the US manufacturer that built mine. Contact me off-list for details.
