How do I get this crazy turn signal assembly out of the steering column. It had a Auto Lita wheel and has a alum. bell behind it. I removed 2 set screws and unit came lose but hanging on wire. I see fine threads at the end of the alum. bell. It also has a rubber nut shaped thing on end of column. I don't want to force anything because every time I do it's another $400 ! Ahhhh ! :hammer:

You have to undo the compression fitting on the steering box, and pull the entire stator tube up through the column__carefully.

Attach a piece of wire to one of the turn-signal wires, so you'll have something to pull the wires back in with.

Mine, for a "Moto Lita" is just splined, and secured with the big nut.

HI You might give some consideration as to a method for draining the oil from the steering box before you try to pull the trafficator assembly out.---Fwiw--Keoke

The steering boxes usually drain themselves... :wink:
