Steering wheel nut size?

Nope. More like 1-1/16.

I remove mine with 1-1/8 six point, but it is a loose fit. A 1" is too small.

Order a new one from MOSS or the usual suspects. IT is very, very easy to cross thread and ruin the Steering column. I know I did it on my '68 Sprite. Spin on by hand.
