Have posted several times with some success so I'm trying again. My 1971 TR6 is in a chronic state of issues, as many know fix one another one crops up. But I'm finding myself reinventing the wheel because parts I've replaced (new) seem to go bad and I'm back at it again. Enough said.
I recently (last September or so) put a new steering lock mechanism and ignition switch in my TR; however, recently, while trying to sort out bad light switch and turn signal wiring I was stalled as suddenly my ignition switch stopped pushing current thru. The headlights et al won't work without a current flowing from the ignitiion. Also the car wouldn't turn over to even think of starting. Bought a new switch and after taking out the one in there I found that the key won't turn in the ignition lock now. Have no clue what could be wrong. Check manual for re-fitting and it doesn't mention anything. I place the new switch into the back of the steering lock mechanism and the key still wouldn't turn. Any ideas . Thanks in advance.
