On an earlier post, a number of you suggested using wheelskins as a source for a leather cover for my steering wheel. I need to bulk up my steering wheel. Wheelskins does not sell padded covers, but suggested I add the padding and then give them the measurements. Has anyone done this, and can you tell me what material you used to bulk up the steering wheel? All opinions are greatly appreciated.

I guess you could fit a standard leather cover, measure the circumference and get one made to go over the top.

Men's lined leather gloves give the wheel a bulkier feel, but they aren't for everyone.

I have a wheelskins cover on the steering wheel of my 59 BE. I did the red and black one. I think it looks cool. The BE is Cherry Red with black seats so the red black combo is a nice touch. I had not thought about padding but if I did it again I might consider padding for a softer feel. I do know this. It takes a lot of time and patience to sew it on.
Measure your wheel several times before submitting the measurements to get a tight fit.
