Steering Wheel 65-What do I need?

It is time I make the investment, my original banjo style wheel was destroyed. So I have a threaded column, with the horn push in the center and a brass ring for the turn signal power. I also have the original Healey horn button which I would like to use.

I see Moss is the only one that sells the original banjo wheel, I take it that is all I would need. Is this the only scenario in which I could use the Healey horn button?

If I go the replacement route I will need a Hub to fit the 65 about $95.00? and the wheel of my choosing. Do any of these combinations allow for the original horn?

Yes, the Tourist Trophy 14" wheel Moss offers allows you to use your original horn....look in the front section of their catalog or just look at one of Jack's photos of Miss Agatha's interior:

Just so you know, the Motolita/Tourist Trophy wheels do not use the original horn push -- at least on a Bugeye. They look nice, but are not factory.

Agree, Miss Agatha does not have an orginal horn push. It will not fit.

Really? Adapter 905-478 includes the horn push for a MkI Sprite...that is the Bugeye, isn't it?

The Motolita/Tourist Trophy wheels have a horn push, but it is not the factory one -- different size (original is smaller). They look quite nice, but aren't the original ones. Moss carries the original; it's a different part number.

When I get a moment tonight, I'll post a shot of my new wheel that does use the original horn push.

905-345 is the complete wheel adapter kit for a Bugeye.

Orginal horn button was maybe 1 1/2 inch in Dia. and was mostly black with a silver lighting slash in the middle. Tourist trophy ones are maybe 4 inch in Diam with the Healey crest.

But installed properly, the horn works, right?

See, if it doesn't we need to notify Moss.

I think we are talking about the wrong steering wheel. Mine is for a 65 MKIII. The horn push is 3 1/2" across and the brass on the back is 2' across on the inset and 2 3/4' overall. I am looking at Moss part number 453-865. What are my other options if any?

Why is keeping the original horn push so important...the Moss wheel we're tsalking with has a nice AH horn push.

I have a nice Volanti Luis steering wheel I wish to fit to my Sprite the hub is a 6 week wait. Maybe another Mfg hub that I could use?

Just a sentimental fool? I thought it would be a nice look. But I am open to something else, It looks like by the time I by a hub and a nice wheel at a minimum I am looking at $350.00 she is worth it but not feeling a lot of extra green at the moment.

You might be surprised at the cost..........
