Steering Rack

Gentlemen:

I purchased a 1960 BE last August. I've had it repainted and now I'm in the process (very daunting) of re-assembling this monster. We've made a lot of mistakes so far, but I hope (<u>hope</u>!) to have it operational by the end of June.

While I was installing the radiator hose I noticed that the rubber boot on the steering rack was cracked and dripping grease. I looked in the VB catalogue to find they sell boot kits for about $20. Are these easy to repair? Is the boot kit sufficient?

Please let me know,

Mike Pennell

I installed mine with no problems. Hope you kept the original wire clamps, because they come with a coupe tye wraps.

I did mine recently and it is not hard. (the hardest part is stretching the rubber over the ends) WAY easier to do off the car.

The early racks are easier than the later ones (IMO).
