steering lever removal

I'm trying to change the seal in the steering box and I can't get a puller on the steering lever to get it off. Is there someway to get it off without removing the box or everything else?

I made myself a wedge that I can drive up there. If that doesn't budge it, a single downward whack with a BFH does.

Yes do not use the hammered pickle forks. There is a simple puller that you attach and apply pressure using a wrench om a large integral screw. The beauty of this tool is additiomally it will also loosen your tie rod end steering rod ends..I do not have a picture of it but perhaps an other on the forum will show it to you/--Fwiw--Keoke

It is on E-Bay these people sell it mechanicstopia very inexpensive too Go to his store on E Bay he has two different styles I like and use both.

Sometimes, after you tighten up the puller, it helps to rap on the arm near the joint a number of times and then "presto", off comes the arm. --elrey

Not too trivial if you are the underdog! ---
