Steering Column Bushing

Hi,
I just got finished replacing those column bushings and here is what I found to work well:
1. Use a small moto tool bit to remove the rubber tabs on the old bushings, be careful not to enlarge the holes they fit into.
2. Use a socket just slightly smaller than the diameter of the steering column with a couple of extensions attached to it. You can then gently tap on the end of the extension and the old bushings should come out.
3. Lubricate the outside of the new bushings, I used a very small amount of wheel bearing grease. You can reinstall the new bushings the same way, with the socket and extension trick. Don't remove any of the rubber tab material from the new bushings, they will slip inside the sterering column if you lubricate them. Just be careful that you don't push them past the tab holes. It took some time but it works! The nylon inner bushing is fairly delicate, so be careful tapping the new bushings into place. Hope that helps,
