I'm switching my sprite over to disc brakes. I'll be using my original steering rack. Will the steering arms from the old drum brake spindle work on the disc brake spindle?

I thought they were the same, but I'm second guessing myself.

I can't get to the garage to look and I need to know before this evening.

Yes they will. The difference in the steering arms is in the later cars when they changed the outer tie rods and tie rod ends to a smaller size. I think it was for '72 between 114486 and 114487.

It is a simple straight-forward switch, just disconnect the old, and reconnect the new! You will be happy you did searrgent Schultz!! When I did mine, I just disconnected the A arms, shocks, tie-rod ends and brake lines and switched the whole assembly. Piece of cake!
 
So Chris, I've got the later style setup from my 74. I took everything from the tie rods to the shocks to the lower A-arm as a single chunk. Will the Bugeye steering rack and tie rod ends work with the later steering arms?
 
The change over on the steering arms occurred in '72.
So you'll need to use your existing steering arms too.

The bugeye steering arms are different. They are tapered. The newer tie rod ends will NOT fit into the old tie rod ends. The new tie rod ends will NOT thread onto the steering rack.
 
I figured I'd need to use the Bugeye tie rods, ends, and steering arms with the rest being the later 74 parts.

I took the 74 tie rods and ends since it was easier to unscrew the tie rods from the rack than any other way I could see. Also, I figured that more parts were better than fewer parts. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
 
So sorry, you are right, the bugeye steering arms will have to be used, It's been so long I forgot that part!
 
I did the same drew. I got everything that I thought that I needed ready to go and found out that I needed to go with the original bugeye parts out and including the steering arms.
