Check out this 1960 sprite ebay Item number: 220303341664
It's done.. looks really nice. 11,000 nice I dont know but really nice.

Have Sprite prices gone into the 10,000 and more price range?
This car has a bunch of non stock items on it does it add to it value or detract? No affect ? Seems like not so long ago 5000 was a high number.

$10,000 or more for a very nice bugeye has been pretty much the range for a number of years I think. I still choke a little when I see the five figure price for box Sprites--but I have noticed those 5 figure box Sprites seem to be for sale long time......

In our local car show, some guy had a nice, not spectacular, midget on display. Had a "for sale" sign on it--price only $28,500. Cheap!!! (?)

I'm sure we all have stories like this, though. Seems strange that people will slap a price on something without researching what they actually go for, but they do.

When asked I once priced my midget out at a ludicrously high amount because I didn't want to sell it unless a fool bought it. He actually had me scared for a moment.

I asked this guy for more pictures and received them, while he has done a great job on the car it's still a 78 Midget. For $8K I think I could do better.

I hope he gets it, that would do something for the value of my car.

although it does have the "stronger and more durable" 1500 engine. a bargain at twice the price :jester:

It is starting to worry me. the way things are going It's looking like The Last Project Car, An MGA just may never happen. prices are nutz and times could get tough.
Theres no way I'm getting rid of the sprite to bank roll an MGA. Just couldn't do it.

Can you fill us all in on why the 1500cc engine is stronger and more durable?

I would love to read all about it.

I look forward on the two part essay.

Cheers

Mark

"1500, which is more reliable than the 1277?" Hardly would consider a 1500 as reliable if one can't even have piece of mind with the knowledge that the thrust washers may- and do- fall into the oil pan.
