The bolt on adaptors are ok on the MGBs and MGAs except for possible clearance issues with the tires. The original wire wheel axles were narrower than the axles for steel wheels. On the Spridget I don't like the bolt on adaptors because the lug pattern comes in on the inner taper section and it's hard to properly tighten them and of course the same clearance issues with the rear tires. Other than that I don't have an issue, Triumph used bolt on adaptors on it's cars for years without problems. I did the brakes on this car a few years ago and it has the bolt on adaptors, had a heck of a time getting the rear ones torqued properly. Notice how close the rear tires are to the fenders.
