Couple of additional thoughts for discussion:
- remove valve cover and pour a bit of engine oil over the valve train/down the springs
- when plugs are out, squirt a bit of 2 stroke oil into the cylinder bores (not too much, so you don't foul the plugs)
- initially only throw a gallon/few litres of gas into the tank and add some 2 stroke oil to the gas as well
- if the carbs were stored (for years and years) with gas in them, you'll probably have to soak them in carb cleaner to get the gum out
-clean battery terminals/new posts and add film of dielectric grease
-grease all the suspension etc. fittings; check condition of rubbers on suspension bits
-depending on your oil filter system, partially fill the filter with oil prior to installing
-don't forget the insurance and registration IN THE CAR! and that the licence plate is current (don't ask why I remember certain things)
- the list advises bleeding brakes by starting with driver side rear wheel. My understanding is that you start with the furthest away brake cylinder, which (in my case) is usually the passenger side rear
- the Internet connection to GEM Enterprises didn't work; can anyone advise?
- hire some young guy to do all the getting up and down off the floor and bending over the various components; buy comfortable chair to ensure civilized supervision
