I installed the starter after the clutch work and now the starter will not work. Not a click, nothing.

i took the starter off and bench tested it. After running 12 volts to the battery and ground to the frame I used a jumper from the hot terminal to the ign. terminal. Nothing. I then touched the 12 volt wire to the starter terminal and the starter turned with pretty good force.

So, I ordered and installed a new solenoid and have the same problem. I have not yet installed the starter. I only bench tested it. I want to be sure it works before I install it.

i know a little about electricity so what am I missing?

i would like to drive the car a few days this summer.

The problem is solved. I thought the terminal marked ign. was where the ignition wire went. It actually went to the unmarked terminal.

Thanks for the reply, Pete
