TR6 Starter lagging issue

Hi all,

Beginning to see issues with starter engaging....”sometimes” .....good battery (best I can tell) turn key to top position ignition lights on, turn key to start .....nothing.....turn key again....nothing.....turn key again .....strong turn and success

Happens cold or at running temperature

Never had a problem with this in the 40+ years I have owned it....I did get one response from a member to clean what I would call exposed areas....leads, battery etc. which I will do and update

Thanks for any input
Best !

Mark - Quick test: next time you try to start, have someone else turn the key to Start. Keep it on Start. If starter doesn't turn (while key is held on Start), take a hammer and rap the starter and/or solenoid. If tapping gets the starter to turn, you've located the problem (probably a stuck or "aging" solenoid).
