This is a kinda over the top, but does anyone know what the starter bolt size is? I am thinking 2 or 2-1/4 by 3/8 find threads.

Depends on which starter, and which gearbox. Early starter and original gearbox is 2" according to the SPC & magic decoder ring. They bumped it to 2.125" for the later starter. ISTR I had to go to 2.5" with the TR6 box (before I installed a Helicoil for the upper bolt of course).

Thanks Randall I tried looking it up in the spare parts catalogue, but could not find the bolt only the electrical stuff. Do you know if it is fine or course thread for the early stuff? I need one of those decoder rings.

The SPC doesn't always have pictures (and the pictures aren't always right). Sometimes you have to read the text.
