Start menu 7, version 4.X is the best I've found, not only to get the 7 menu back, but this version improves the original. It's freeware, even though a Pro version is available. It's quite adjustable to your preference for appearance/color and operation. Just thought I'd mention it. PJ

Paul - it looks very professional and intuitive. I notice on the homepage it's described as suitable for Windows 2003, XP, Vista, and 7. But not Windows 8.

What version of Windows are you running Start Menu 7 on? I've just installed "pure" Win7 on my office machines. Really like 7 "as is", but wonder if Start Menu 7 would be worthwhile.

Thanks.
Tom

Tom, if you've got 7 running well don't "muddy th' water" with the "value added" stuff. JMHO. ;-)

Tom, I'm running W-8 in this computer and the new W-7 menu, version 4-X works very well! It not only gives me back the menu, but is much nicer than the original W-7 setup. I can recall the W-8 start page with a push of a button or set it to start with Windows original start page. It also can be removed if desired, but I like it. With it's many options for personal preferences, you can set it to your liking. It appears to only be an ad on and doesn't remove any internal programing. Quite nice. PJ
