The chip book is by Glasso, it looks like it was issued in 1966. A little rough on the edges but the colors are still decent enough that I can match paints ok I think.

Good Morn`n Randy,

"THANX" for the info. Thats Great!

Man, 8 different shades of Grey. The "Fan" of colors you posted are`nt the Grey; Are They? If Yes; They came out a totally different color.

Randy, Would you be able to email me the "Fan" of the "Greys"?

I surely would appreciate that.

Thanx and Regards,

Russ

Randy , you old dog. Where did you steal find that book?

About 6 or 7 years ago when we were considering colours, Brian mixed up several shades. In sunlight they will look dramatically different, so be sure to check outside. We found eight formulae for 'silverstone grey' and in the end decided on an in between custom shade. Thats what we are going with.

cheers,

Frank

Sorry Frank, I can't divulge my sources, even if they are Ebay. Oops!

Yes, I've already sent Russ a note letting him know I'd at least try to take a picture in full daylight - that is a night shot in my study so the colors are definitely off.

I did check the book against one of the few pieces of my car that wasn't repainted, and at least for Silverstone I can say that one is a close match.

Randy please post a shot of the Winchester, and Salvador Blue if you could. I would love to see how it compares with the original paint I found under the stone guard on my car.

Will do Keith - but I need to do it in daylight to get something close I think.

edit: just looked at them, and they are pretty close to one another, Winchester is just a little darker than Salvador at least with this color set.

Randy, of course you realize that with the acquisition of the rare and ancient document comes a serious and eternal responsibility and duty to serve as the HIGH EXALTED GALACTIC GURU OF TRIUMPH EXTERIOR FINISH COLOURS. Otherwise known as the HEGOTEFC!

Frank I have no idea how you guys come up with stuff like that (very funny). I'm no good at understanding some of the texting also.

Thanks Randy, When ever the Great HEGOTEFC has the time.

Keith-

Here you go, Salvador on the left, Winchester on the right. pm if you want a higher res emailed to you or a better shot.

I guess the best this does is show the relative differences, but I'm not sure what to do to make sure the color calibration or whatever you call it on the picture is correct. Looking at them right now, they seem too light in the picture but then again I did it in full daylight as opposed to on my desk at night.

Thanks Randy the color looks very close. Just for the fun of it I will post a shot of my original paint tomorrow in daylight. I'm glad that I like the Winchester better than the Salvador. The Salvador does have a aqua tint to it.
