TR6 Stainless oil pressure line install HELP!

I recently bought a new braided SS oil pressure line from TSI and I'm looking for install help from those of you who have done this.
The resto on my TR6 has been completed for many years so the thought of pulling the dash to get to the oil gauge is not a pleasant one.
My question is: Can the new line be installed from under the dash or do I have to pull the dashboard and oil pressure gauge to install the new line?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

When I replaced mine 10 years ago, I definitely did not pull the dash, maybe a large gauge to see better? I was more flexible then... Don't forget the little leather gasket!

Thanks Kevin.

I was able to attach the oil line to the gauge, thru the ashtray opening...
Pull the ashtray out and look into the opening from the outside of the windshield..You can then evaluate the situation and if you want to give it a try.

Thanks Ken I'll give it a try. Kind of like building a ship in a bottle.

OK, it is in without removing the dash. Removed the tach and the ashtray (good idea Ken!). I'm going to run the engine to make sure there's no leaks before buttoning things up. It's not going to be fun getting to those tiny nuts that hold the gauge in. Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Elliot,

I have the same job to do within the next few weeks as soon as I get the car home from storage. Thanks for the heads up on how to attack it.

Cheers
Tush

I ran the engine this evening up to operating temp and no leaks at all! Now I am good for at least another 44 years as that's how long the original plastic one was in :rolleye:
