"Stag on steroids": rare Tickford Stag!
Described in the February 2009 "Classic & Sports Car" magazine. Amazing car, a one-off, custom built. To me it's almost reminicent of a Buick Grand National from across the pond: jet black; hood scoop; front air dam; black spoked wheels; big, chrome quad exhaust tips and of course, blackened windows all around.
Designed by Tickford and built in the early '80s by London's Tony Hart of Hart Racing Services (of Aston-Martin fame and later, Stag gurus). It's lowered an inch with a stiffened suspension. Holley carb, hot cams, and bigger valves in the engine. Puts out about 200bhp (why didn't they supercharge it???).
The interior is gorgeous with thick Wilton carpet and Connolly hides done in a subtle silver/gray.
Stunning car. If you're at your local mazazine stand, take a look.
If only Triumph could have marketed such a car I bet they'd sold like hot cakes! But, we'll never know . . .
