I miss the SSsnake updates. What's the status.

I think tomorrow Rickey's cutting the openings in the fenders for my Cobra vents.

& Hap & I are working on wheels...I'm gonna go with Superlites but we have to figure the correct size....he's gonna send me a 15"x7" wheel with a 4.4" backspace to use for measurements....now I've gotta figure out which size tire I'll use. Here's the style/color I want to use but mine will be wider with a deeper offset:

Will the license plate holder have SSnake on it?

If its available, it'll say "SSsnake" - 7 letters.

hehehehehe...thank goodness we're changing our plates to get rid of that design!

Here's some more.

You're just bored, Jack!

Spent some time this morning wandering around my friend's salvage yard looking for suitable front park/turn signal lights & driving lights....had my template for the front fender/air dam contour putting it up against different front ends to find one that fits. Think I found the driving lights in a Ponmtiac Grand Am & the park lights in a new VW.

Right now gotta go pick up my Midget engine.

Turn lights, signal lights and head lights can be gotten in one standard looking head light.

Possibly, Jack, but I've already spent almost $500 on my new Mini headlight setup & they only have low/high beams & day running lights. Park/turn lights are in a different housing & I don't like the ones on the new Mini. Driving lights are also not included in the new Mini setup but are a separate housing.

Remember, everything I'm doing to this car is pure custom!

Understand Tony, was mostly intrested if folks knowing they were available if they were intrested.

What year/model Mini do these headlights fit into, Tony? They seem to've made a different setup for each color the car comes in: High/Low, Turn Signal; High-Low, DRL; High-Low (lonely); and so on.

Don't know, Rick...but I have seen some Mini's with separate turn signals...guess that's the year of mine.

Ah. It's funny - before I read your first post on this car I was wondering how that (the Mini headlight cluster) would look on a shaved-down B. Now we're gonna see!

Lemme tell you - I wouldn't do it again! Those fenders have been split all the way up the valley parallep to the hood & widened...& the front edge near the grille has been cut off so as not to block the headlight....if a person were keeping up with costs, they'd not do it!

I first saw it done on a GT down in Florida - went to look at the car....the owner had cut a hole in his fender & tucked the headlight cluster inside the hole rather that widen the fenders.

Oh, & we widened the fenders without widening them! We just sliced the vlley & made it moew shallow which flattened the curve on top of the fender somewhat.

One of the things I'd wondered about was that bit near the grill. These lights have a lot of rake to 'em, and I'd sorta seen the edges of the grill blocking things. That's boo-coo interesting about the need to widen the fenders, though. Ouch.

I've still got to send him the $$$, but I've cut a deal to buy a '71 GT shell from Mac Townsend in CA. The car's going to sit in Nevada for a bit - my mom lives south of Carson City - but I figure next summer the missus and I'll tow it back East. The plan is to do a V6 conversion, and one of the things I was eyeing was this change. Back to the ol' drawing board....

Here's an early photo where you can see how much we shaved off the edge by the grille & you can see where we sliced the fender up the 'valley' (the 2nd photo is of a stock fender)...look at the diference between the valleys in the 2 fenders:
