SSsnake - It's Been Awhile

Yeah, I like how you smoothed out the brake ducts on the Moss Sebring valance, my idea for that is pretty much the same, I want to have capture nuts on the back side so I can block them off with custom aluminum bolt-on covers on colder days and for normal driving. If you plan on making the brake duct functional, and carry cool air to the brake via a hose, you'll need some sort of screen to keep debris form getting to the rotors.
They'll be operational....I'm still thinking about how to do that......'course, I'm also still trying to find front park/turn signal lights that are small enough & can be frenched in.

Everybody's copying SSsnake!

Saw this car at the show in N'Awlins this weekend....didn't take lots of photos because it wasn't really that interesting....great paint job but the sloped headlights stuck out beyond the fenders about 1/4", so I didn't photo them.....I did like his digital instrument layout but I'm not gonna do it, so, again - no photo.

Thought you guys might like these photos though :devilgrin:!

Tony;
I don't mind that wing.
It's nice to see one painted to match. Yours would look equally as nice.

Dave :thumbsup:

Confirms my thought that a rear wing looks really tacky....

I don't know....it kinda flows well with the lines on the red MGB...and would be a great place to put a third brake light on a tourer.

It's growing on me.

Tony, operational brake cooling ducts are easy, just weld a section of exhaust tubing of the desired size to the dust shield, connect that to the intake ducts with some good quality hose (got mine from McMaster Carr, it wasn't cheap) and you're in business. If you have room on the outside of the rotor you can get the air duct over the edge instead of just at the side as mine are.

If I was doing this,I'd have the spoiler sit a little lower.Closer to the line of the rear wings and the lights.

Stuart. :cheers:
The one we're playing with is lower...I was amazed how high that one was.

Yep, already modified my dust shields...thanks for the tip on hose!

Tony;
The one person who hasn't said what they like as far as a spoiler goes, is YOU!
Fess up man, do you like it or no?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Dave...some days I do...some not....we're gonna finish fitting it but not drill any holes...then we'll paint everything & relook it after the car's assembled with the stripes.

What I do like about it is (to me, asthetically), it makes the car look longer; plus, because there's nothing back there to break up the car's rear lines, it looks like a curved kammback.

I dunno......

[What I do find interesting is there are several people who are adopting my ideas on their cars...but, none of them has figured out how to make the headlights look like they belong....for example, the guy in N'Awlins had headlights that hung out 1/4" over the sides of the fenders; a guy in Canada went with a Ford Taurus headlight assembly but to make it work, he had to turn it so the headlight is on an angle. Several folks have attempted the hood but without the base modified fiberglass hood, theirs don't achieve the same look....when I was thinking about Buick portholes on the front fenders, a guy went with something similar & a huge aluminum scoop on his aluminum hood....I think its funny!]

True, chuck....everytime I see one of their cars in person or on the internet, I feel better about all the work we're putting into SSsnake.

Today we decided on the front turn signals...had a couple of different lights to pick from...so, next my bodyman is going to French them into the front air dam. Oh, taillights & turn signals will all be LED's.

I think the rear wing ruins the smooth lines of the car. Sorry, but I agree with those that says it looks tacky.
Reminds me of stuff we used to buy from Pep Boys, you know, whip antennas, coon tails, fender skirts, hood ornaments, etc.
Would probably look good on this though,

SSsnake today:

First photo shows the final fitting of the headlights....car is so close to primer, it's just down to nit picking.

I'm gonna put the 2nd photo up & let you guys figure it out....then, tomorrow night I'll add another photo that will explain it all.

I got it, it has a trunk. lol

Boy is that front end shot awsum. That's how an updated MGB should look. Durn factorys should have had you on the pay roll.

Keep looking at that "trunk" photo, Jack....you'll see the mods...then, tell me why we did them.....
