SSsnake - It's Been Awhile

3 - powdercoat/paint black
4 - polish
2 - no rear spoiler

Remember, though, as things progress she looks different...right now the hood bulge is disappearing into all the other bodywork...I think the rear spoiler will also.

Put that rear spoiler in the trash. Sigh, reminds me of a rice burner.

But, then, here's the rear - & the car looks short:

For the spoiler to be functional, it needs to be raised to at least even with the top and moved back even with the bumper. Maybe higher and further back. At that size, it probably will only be drag until 100 mph. IMO.

If you must have a spoiler, make one like the 60's-70's Camero.

My 2 pennies worth.

Yep, final design is higher & more to the rear than in the photos....it actually sits right at the drop off point for the car & the tips fall into the valley right next to the taillight.

100mph....we're talking well above that!

'100mph....we're talking well above that!'

Then you better put some big end plates on it to help keep it from swappin' ends on that short wheelbase.

Ok...here's our 2 cents
polish and no rear spoiler

Another vote for polish...and some for the ports, too! Every little car deserves a little bling! As for the spoiler, I would see how much is obscures the veiw in the rearview mirrow, as that is where you will find the competition.

Do we have a proposed completion date? Seeing the twin, (I guess), exhaust pipe holes, is the Rover going in this car? Going to be some car when it's done. Can hardly wait to see it completed. Then it'll be,

4 - powdercoat/paint black
5 - polish
4 - no rear spoiler
1 - rear spoiler

They hope to get it in white epoxy primer within the next couple of weeks.....yep, those holes in the rear are exhaust ports for the dual exhaust tthat wil be hooked up to this:

I vote for polish and as far as the spoiler i would prep and paint it along with the car. Then have someone hold it in place and make a call as to drill or not to drill. It can be added at the end of the project. Things like this sometimes look different when in color....Good or bad! Just my 3 cents.Bob

My plan exactly, Bob (on the spoiler).

So, now:
4 - powdercoat/paint black windshield/vent window
6 - polish windshield/vent window
4 - no rear spoiler
1 - rear spoiler
3 - not sure on rear spoiler

Tony;
If the roof is black, do the frame black.
Otherwise, polish.
Like Bob says, leave the spoiler till last and see how it looks in color.
Everything looks better in color.

That is one "COOL" car

Dave :driving:

Hardtop will be painted body color with stripes to match body.

Convertible top will be biscuit cloth (interior will be biscuit leather w/brown carpet) packaway in trunk.

So, guess that ups the "polish" count.

4 - powdercoat/paint black windshield/vent window
7 - polish windshield/vent window
4 - no rear spoiler
1 - rear spoiler
4 - not sure on rear spoiler

Recommendation on the wheels: round ones!!!

Nobody else said and I couldn't resist!!! LOL

I'll cast a dissenting vote...

"No" on polish. "No" on black. "Yes" on painting the windshield frame body color - including continuing the stripes onto it.

As for the spoiler, I also vote to lose it. Tony....act your age  Of course, I suppose you wouldn't even be building this car if you were doing that!

WHOO!!

4 - powdercoat/paint black windshield/vent window
7 - polish windshield/vent window
1 - Paint windshield/vent window body color
5 - no rear spoiler
1 - rear spoiler
4 - not sure on rear spoiler

&, no, if I were acting my age, I'd drive my 380SL & get rid of all my MG's!!!

I saw an MGB V8 in Sebring that had its windscreen frame painted to match the body colour.

It just did not look right...and add to that the chrome vent window frames..absolutely no continuity.

FWIW.
