Spyder? on CL

This one came up before. Triumph TR7 1980
I can't tell if it's a Spyder or not. It's black with alloys and a grey dash, but those things alone do not a spyder make....or do they? Apart from styling differences, was there any engine changes to make a Spyder more sporting? Although this one is very tempting, I don't know if I have the resources to take in an orphan TR7 right now.

I'd be careful with this one. I saw these same pictures used in a Chicago area CL ad. The owners was purportedly from Yorkville but never responded to any inquiries. The price at that time was under 3k.

I see from my previous thread that the consensus was that this IS likely a Spyder. But if the paint, dash, and alloys are what sets it apart, and it looks like the "Spyder" stickers are gone indicating a repaint(?), is there anything that really sets it apart from another 1980 TR7 dhc?

Interesting, Roman, that you saw this ad in Chicago! I think the current state of my funds is likely to keep me from losing any money on this!

Just clicked the link and says that the listing has been deleted...hmmmmmmm
