Sprite hood emblem

Another question...

The hood emblem on my '67 Sprite is plastic. Where the originally plastic, or is this just a cheap reproduction? It seems as though it should be metal, but I don't know for sure. If this is the case does anyone know if the ones supplied by Moss and Victoria British are metal?

Thanks again,
Mark

In my "Link", go to "Vendor Links" then look under "Specialty Vendors" There you will find a link to "Classic Badges". Badges and emblems are there only business. Probably they could answer your question. Basil

Thanks Basil. I've already ordered a NOS steering wheel emblem from them (reaping the benefits of this website!). Although it's not listed on their site, I should ask them about the hood emblem. I just never thought of it...

Hey Mark. I can tell you for certain the the hood badges offered by Victoria British are plastic. I have been wondering the same thing myself. If you could please post what you find out. I would be interested in knowing myself.

I haven't contacted them yet, but I'll shoot off an email in a few minutes and let you know what I find out...

Sean from Classic Badges didn't know for sure, but guessed that the original was probably plastic. Too bad there aren't a lot of Sprites around here (well...not REALLY

) otherwise I would just check one out. I DID see one driving on my way to work the other day, though...

All Sprite bonnet badges were plastic.
All were silver, gold, and red over black.
Some of the suppliers have the later winged badge with no gold in it. This one is WRONG. But it doesn't look that bad.

Thank you sir! This is very good information to have!
