I just order a complete gasget set with conversion and are planning to dismantel the engine perty soon. This is the first time I've done this and I'am a little affriad. Any good tips on what to "make sure of" and what to avoid.

If you are going to reuse the cam and lifters (tappets) be sure to label the lifters to keep them indexed to the proper lobe on the cam. Many people do the same for the push rods, but this isn't critical, just nice to do. If you are not going to have the block dip tanked (just jet washed) don't remove or disturb the rear main crank cover (the crescent plate with three bolts). The location of this cover in relation to the crank is critical for reducing oil leakage at the rear main.
