Sprite Fuel Pump Upgrade

I'm upgrading the fuel pump in my '59 Bugeye that has a 1275 engine. It currently has a Facet run-all-the-time pump and I'm upgrading to a SU solid state pump (AUF 214). The changeover is easy enough, but I'm just wondering what's to be done with the two small ports. I'm guessing they are to be connected to an emission control system (which I don't have).

Can they be left as-is and vent into the atmosphere. or can they be sealed? I don't want to affect the function of the pump. Thanks.

Your question would be better asked on the Spriget Forum, but those are to vent the back side of the diaphragm. I have run some clear tubing from mine to a spot that doesn’t get a lot of dirt thrown about.
