Sprite debut

I want his hat!
That was fun Mike.

Mike,

Great Video...thanks for sharing. Is it my imagination, but my windshield wipers never move as fast as the ones in the video do!

That was excellent, really enjoyed. Now if I can get Miss Agatha to run like that, hehe.

Bruce, that was the first one! Lucas hadn't had the time to get it wrong yet!!

I LOVE the commentary...Sooo British!!

Thanks for sharing. That is too cool! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I guess that's the benefit of a brand new wiper motor. They actually look like they might be useful in the wet!

Look at some of the other Sprite Links . There is one of a Sprite on the PCH passing car after car. Doesn't sound like a stock 948 for sure.

Roy English, God bless you brother, a true Healey historian from down under, even if he could not spell "Healy" (sic) I don't know where he got the footage, but it belongs here!!!
Thank you Roy!!!

Sherlock Baz?? A deer-stalker? Elementary my dear chap! All he's lacking is the Miersham pipe and coat to be Sherlock Holmes...He would have made a good one though...Shepperton Studios or the BBC missed out not grabbing him /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif!!

John Bolster went on from then to become one of the most familiar voices on television, as he became the BBC commentator for all Motor Racing events including Formula 1, which the BBC covered with a near perfect live coverage history over several decades. John retired eventually and was replaced by Murray Walker, who despite being a very competent and knowlegeable replacement, just didn't have the same "aplomb" that Mr Bolster brought to every occasion.

Roy Salvadori was a British Formula 1 driver who raced for Cooper and Vanwall, and a number of other well-known teams of the 1950s, and he won the 1959 Le Mans 24 Hour race driving an Aston-Martin teamed with Carroll Shelby. This would have been about a year after the short Sprite film was made.

thanks Chris that was great background stuff! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
