Sprite Arrow

Country flag

When designing the air filter covers, I had to first draw a sprite arrow badge. I'm not an artist, but here is what I came up with. I'm posting it here because two people have already asked me for a copy.

And while I'm at it, here is the healey emblem with crest:

I saved em, no clue why except that they are beautiful.

For "not an artist" you do pretty nice work.

Both of those are drawn with a computer drawing application (inkscape). So, no artistic talent is needed... just patience.

Several years ago we had a discussion about the emblems on the healey crest. They are wheat sheaves and mascles. I do not remember what they mean.

I dunno, looks like broccoli on the shield to me.

maybe it mean, " Eat all your broccoli or you don't get to ride in the Healey!"

On my original draft they ended up looking like salt and pepper shakers. So broccoli is an improvement.

Trevor, that is gorgeous work but I have a question. Is there any copyright problems with using those emblems on a commercial product???? Wouldn't want to see you get in a jam and don't know how that stuff works myself. I was thinking of making up some better sports car caps years ago worried about that. Caps are no longer made here anyway so the problem isn't of concern now.

Kurt.

That means that when your car breaks down in the midwest you have to use your mascles to push the car past the wheat sheaves.

Trevor, you need to open up a Cafe Press shop and offer T shirts and hats, and such. It's preety easy and there are no upstart cost. I'm sure the folks here would love to get some swag with your work on it.

Yes, there is an issue with using them on commercial products. Many people have produced products with acquiring proper licensing agreements. I'm not planning on any commercial ventures involving the logos. I originally drew the AH logo to have it ghosted into the paint on the underside of my bonnet. Still haven't gotten around to doing the body/paint on the car. :frown:

Well, Trevor, IMHO the "ugly bug" has enough personality that it should stay as it is!
Am curious as to where a guy would go to get licencing for the brit car logo's?

Any one??

Kurt.

For MG stuff, you probably need to speak Chinese.
Healey stuff still belongs to the family I think. Austin name and Triumph name are with BMW I believe.

It was a joke that I don't know what a mascle looks like much less what one is.

I wasn't reffereing to the artwork itself at all.

I'd like carrots and peas with mine please!

I would expect that the logo is long into the public domain.

I think that is 99 years IIRC.

I may be wrong....which I often am.

(seems more and more the older I get)

Really? Guess we got to wait then.

But I find it hard to believe you can not put it on a T shirt.
