Sprite 55th in Hershey

I just saw a notice that there will be a Sprite 55th anniversary event this May in Carlisle. I'm wondering if any of this group has been to one of the previous events. It would be about a 300 mile drive from this location. Is it a worthwhile event? This could be the only one that I could ever make so I'm giving it serious consideration. The times I spent at LoTO and Elkhart were a lot of fun and I'm hoping this event might be as well. Any thoughts?

I think that in years past, it has been predominantly bugeye's that attend (based on the photos), but there have also been some boxed sprites there as well. You'll recognize many of the people that attended the LoTO and Elkhart. Plus there will be plenty of new faces from the mid-atlantic and northeast. It is a bunch of spridget people in one place. How could it not be fun?

I ran the Hershey Hillclimb 10 years ago and had a great time. They only ran one more time (in '04) and then cancelled until 2012.

It's a nice area with lots to do; I'm sure you'd have a good time. The nearby auto museum is excellent.

I would especially like to go if the hillclimb was on, but that is a different date (when I'll be at The Shore).

Here are two photos of my car at the Hershey Hillclimb in '03

The last shot of the vintage Lotus is the car that got fastest time at the hillclimb in '12. The driver is a good friend and one of my former engineering students.

My wife and I went to the 50th for Bugeyes and had a great time. Lots of fun events and fun people. We drove over 300 miles and don't regret it at all!
Go and enjoy.

I was the person who posted the 2013 Sprite 55th in the Events forum. I did this for Dr. Rick Moses with his permission. Rick hasd been doing Sprite meets every five years since 1988. I have attended 3 and was at a 4th but only for a day visit. This years event is a little different as we won't be staying at a host hotel but will be touring the Pennyslvania country side staying at a new hotel each night, with different activities each day. The event also coincides with the Carlisle Sports and Kit Car show. You will not find anyone who would say they didn't have a good time at any of the past Sprite events. All year Sprites and Midgets are welcome.

Biff, any notion of the cost?

I was at LoO and Elkhart Lake, but won't be free this summer.
I was hoping something Spridgety will happen in '14.
Maybe we could do something in connection with MG 2014 in Indiana
