Springs & Shocks

Well, no wonder my fender clearance was lousy. :wink-new: Occasional rubs to the tires on tight, fast turns. Bouncy too.
I was due for replacement of my Armstrong shocks (rebuilt from World Wide) and decided that the springs were probably tired.
So, in re-building the suspension, THIS (below) was discovered... seriously shorter and smaller springs. The ones on the right are the new, stock, ones.
The car now rides MUCH better.

Is that from wear, or did someone put in shorter springs?

I don't know the history of these springs, but, no, it's not from wear... and they don't look artificially shortened. Odd, shorter, things (with even a slightly smaller diameter).
