Lookin to buy a 62 Bt7.
The seller tells me that spring in the transmission that is compressed when the shift lever is moved all the way to the Left to go into Reverse.
This feature works good when the Transmission is cold, but when the Transmission warms up, the spring does not activate. He said I should just live with it, as it is a massive job to remove the Transmission and "hopefully" fix it. Therefore, when you are driving the car, and shifting into second gear, you must remember to not move the lever too far to the Left. Just move it straight down from the 1st gear position.
What do you think? Is this a big job? How much would you estimate this to be fixed?
