Spridgets at Eurofest in Greenville SC

I seem to remember towing a BE on a U Haul dolly from Battle Creak to Sumpter, SC. Not a prob in the world.
 
Kim, Eurofest is good show to come look at all the eye candy, it free to look and park. You'll see alot of cars that this show you won't see at another single show in the Southeast, everything from Rolls Royces, to Ferrais, to Porsches to LBCs.
 
I'm thinking about going myself. Am bringing my '59 bugeye from Greenwood. I used to live on Fanning Bridge Rd. in Fletcher, which is near where you are from.
 
I know a Guy who own a VW Machine Shop in Fletcher. right up the road from Sunny Flea Market
 
NCBugeye is now more or less ready to go to EuroAutoFest. We will combine the trip to the show with a visit to UNC Charlotte which is one of the colleges my son is considering.

I will describe NCBugeye as a "rust-free unrestored example with obvious modifications" - I cannot rightly put her in the same county as the eye-candy category. Right now she is just slightly scruffy, but enormous fun to drive, pulls 5750 rpm easily, and cruises nicely at an indicated 65-70mph.

There are a few rattles, the transmission is noisy, the exhaust is too loud, and there is a little oil smoke, but I really can't complain.

Folks get quite a shock when this tiny little car streaks away when the light turns green.

Now my teenage son is begging me to change the insurance so he can "learn to drive a stick shift". Yeah Right!!! He has actually helped a great deal, especially doing the more athletic moves like climbing into the cave to guide the fuel filler pipe to its correct location.

I know last year at eurofest you did not see alot of display materal lying around. best thing i suggest is bring what ever if you cant show it hid it under the car. This show is what i like to call a "gentlmens" Show. not your ordinary "baccer spittin", redneck, "Ive got the Loudest Car" Car show.
 
I'm planning on being there too. The last time I went was in '04 with my MGB-GT. I am sure the Healey turnout will be big. I look forward to meeting some of you guys both loal and otherwise. I'll have my MKII Sprite there. It's not really show worthy anymore, but I still enjoy the crowd. The BMW Zentrium Curator owns a BE I restored in 1994. It will probably be on display. I don't get credit for it. That's why I stopped restoring for other people. Some folks tend not to mention who did the work or want to take credit for more than they did themselves. Might be interesting to see how well it's holding up after all this time. Look for me around my car

To all those who are entering this event, help me out, this will be my first, so I have no idea of the protocol.

Do we just turn up at the entrance? I will be trailering since it's 4 hours drive away from home, arriving about 7pm, I'd guess.

I have never been to the BMW plant, but I am looking at it on Google maps, and notice that it is right next to I-85 which is very convenient as I-85 also goes right by near where I am. I am wondering if that overhead image is up-to-date and where on the site the event will be held.

Is there a special deal on hotels?

Its as simple as it appears. Take the exit off of 85. Go towards the plant. Turn into the entrance and stay in the left lane. Follow the road all the way up the the registration line or follow the sign to the trailer parking lot (where I'll be) then drive back to the registration/check in line. The entrance to the field is right there as well. The Healey section is usually 3 section in on the left past the Porsche's and MG's.

We had a FBCC car club meeting last night, Barry Harms was there to give us the latest on Euro. Last year in the MG, Mini lini line we got over run, so this year Barry has got us a more generous piece of real estate, all the MGs, Mini, maybe the other British car (other than the feature mark, healey) will be beside the Zentrium. Ben the feature mark is normally in front of the Zentrium, so that's where you be directed to with your Bugeye. Don't sweat it though after you get to registration, we'll guide you the rest of the way in and get you parked on the show field.

I will tell you all this, if any are attending any of the activities on Friday night at the Ramada, take a good look at the BMW performance stuff, this is the coolest thing about this show if you ask me, you get to dog the crap out of new BMWs for a small donation to the red cross, I highly recommend the rat race. Also be sure to check out the hospitality suite, I'll be working there from 9:00 to 11:00, hey we're giving away free booze and munchies, what else needs to be said, come see me /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Oh and don't give the blonde any crap at registration or I'll have to come look you guys up /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
