Spridget trailer size

Saw the older post on rental trailers vs. dollys.... wondering what the opinions are about trailer size if you are going to buy or build one... 4X8 seems too small (?)

Here is my trailer - found on Craigslist fairly inexpensively because it is so small(and ugly). This pic shows my new GT on it. I actually had to move the inner edge of the wheel ramps inward so that my midget didnt fall between the ramps! Trailers this small seem to have limited appeal and therefore sell for less.

I can measure for you tonight. I can tell you that it is almost the exact size of a 1st gen Miata

Anything specific you are looking for or just lenght X width?

Works great.

The linked file should be the dimensions of Jack's trailer:

I got these dimensions from another BCFer, who I believe sold Jack his trailer. The linked ZIP file has pictures as well as drawings from the trailer which should give you what you need.

I have used the Harbor Freight 4 x 8 trailer (with a single piece of 5/8" plywood bolted to the top) to carry a Spridget for a few hundred miles but I don't recommend it. The Spridget tires hung about 1/2" over on either side and I was nervous about it the entire way (for it's strength). But it did make it and in a pinch I will use it again but I will look for other options first.

A horrible fright 4 x 8 trailer held the Holy Sprite on it's trip from California to NJ. The trailer was about useless after the trip but it worked. The tongue somehow took a beating and got twisted somewhere in the Pennsy mountains.
A 5x12 trailer is perfect.
