That's a beautiful wheel and what I originally had in mind, before I saw the banjo wheel. If I can't make it work, I'll definitely go with one like that.
 
FYI - the seller wrote back and said it's 5/8th which is the same as my Bugeye. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Let me know if anyone else if going to bid on this, as I don't want to get into a bidding war.
 
'68 and '69 were unique. '68 was the first year of collapsible steering column. Be areful where rebolting on steering wheel. East to strip out the top of the column cross threading the nut that holds on the wheeh. Ask mt, I know. Found a '68 parts car and one of Bugsy's future projects is replacing column.

Bugsy has a wheel that came out of either a TR-4 or a Morris Minor. Can't figure out which. 4 spoke wires leading to the wheel.

'68 and '69 also have horn on the column/ turn signal stalk.

Well I "won" it on ebay (overpaid I'm sure! lol!) I'll let you know if it works.
 
John, how much space is there between the outer edge of the wheel & the inside of the door?

Is the wheel 15 inches diameter?

Yes, it's a 15" wheel. There is about 4" between the edge of the wheel and door. About 2.5" between the wheel and cockpit surround.

I have a banjo style steering wheel that is in good shape that I had hoped to use on my '65 but the spline on the steering wheel is too small for the column in my '65. Guess I need to add it to my list o parts to sell.
 
If I can figure out how to install it on my '78 Midget that's the one I want (with the MG logo of course).

I guess I could pull the one off my 69 MGC and see if there's any way to adapt or install it. Of course I don't want to use that one on my Midget, it's for my MGC after all.
