Spridget Prices

Re: Sprdgets Prices

yup

Re: Sprdgets Prices

Looks nice, but yes, i think it's about $8000 to the optimistic side.

Re: Sprdgets Prices

Looks nice, but probably won't sell for what he's asking.

& "$25K restoration"? How much of that was labor?

A few nit-picks:
Hood sits high on passenger's side...
Not clear if the engine/trans was rebuilt or just repainted...
Wiring looks a little sloppy...

BUT being that it is a CA car it probably has seen very little "tin worm" action, so it could be a pretty solid & original car...

I wonder what the seller REALLY wants to sell it for?

Could be one of those, "OK honey, I'll try to sell it. But if I don't get any reasonable offers I'm just gonna have to sell the minivan instead."

Re: Sprdgets Prices

Optimistic? Ummm....mebbe just a tad....

There was a nice, but nothing special, chrome-bumper MG Midget in our local auto show this past year, with a "for sale" sign on it. Asking $28,500. This was not a concours car, just a rather ordinary Spridget. You'd think people would research what these things go for, before deciding on an asking price.

Re: Sprdgets Prices

The car has nice shiny paint and looks decent, but the hood is crooked at the front, the horn push is missing on the aftermarket steering wheel, the grill is from a later midget (I ran a red '67 with a similar later grill in college and thought it looked pretty nice, but still if you want top dollar like that I would think original would be best) as noted the wiring looks a little unkempt, you would think if serious going after the top dollar seller would put really just a few hours and dollars into the car and sort these thing out. Who knows what the rationale is? kind of baffles me though.
