Took my car in to the alignment shop today to get the rear end aligned. The guy was amazed. I hit the nail on the head! There were no adjustments needed. I got camber and toe-in spot on! A slight camber and a wee bit of toe-in (I forgot the numbers he gave me) and he checked it all with his super alignment machines. I was proud. And all done with nylon string and a sharp eye.

I kinda think this is how these cars were built, nylon string and a sharp eye. And warm beer, Lucas style.

My alignment tools also, and work well. But I don't drink beer; tequila is my choice of liquid wobbly.

If you weren't quite so far away, I'd drive over and have you do mine.

So, will this be a new gig, after you retire from dentistry?

I cannot afford to retire. Gotta support my habit.

Actually, I feel fortunate that I have Bobby's Alignment Shop available to me. Those guys are really old school and understand independent rear suspensions and the tricks to aligning them. Had I gone to one of the more modern shops, I would prolly have worried!

I may need your services in a few weeks. Would you like to share your technique?

I checked and Firestone has the numbers in their machine. The alignment guy I talked to seemed to think he would have no problem, I doubt it.
