Here's an amusing few shots I took while visiting the Heritage Motor Center in Gaydon (https://www.google.com/maps/@52.1876881,-1.4770749,15z), Warwickshire. It's an amazing museum (of essential Leyland products). They had the winning Monte Carlo Minis and countless other cars (maybe 200), many famous.
Not often visited but worth the drop in when we were driving from Leeds to Goodwood.

Anyway, I shot more but here are 3. It was very well done. Dscn3705.jpgDscn3706.jpgDscn3707.jpg

I love how they split the transmission (though I'll have to dig out the "other side" shots).

Found some more.
If anyone wants higher resolution shots, shoot me an email.

Transmission appears to be missing a layshaft.

 Doc your too much! Only you would think of such a thing! :highly_amused: PJ

Could it have been on the other side? The other half did have part of the transmission (as I vaguely recall).

Yes! And Doc knows this! :friendly_wink: PJ

Thanks for the pics. I'd love to get to that museum some day (as well as Goodwood, which I see you visited as well).

Drew, we really tried to pack it in... and I hate to admit it but I sort of became overloaded with cars. We had stayed with 2 sets of friends in Yorkshire, and then we all rented a van (for the 3 couples) and drove down to Goodwood. Gaydon was along the way and just too easy to visit. Goodwood was nearly overwhelming... and then we went to Beaulieu the next day!!! A total of 10 days in the UK (this after 11 days in Belgium and Holland). 3 weeks away and I start to run out of gas.

Anyway, I'd recommend Goodwood (the Revival anyway) and Beaulieu to anyone that makes the journey over there (as they are only about an hour apart by car). We found some inexpensive hotels nearby each (though one had to drive a good 1/2 hour to each just to get those good rates) - otherwise everything around the venues is terribly expensive.

The museum at Brooklands is well worth the time, also. And if you are into airplanes, try to get to the Imperial War Museum in Duxford - there is a separate building for American planes. They even have a Blackbird...

Thanks.
I always enjoy it when other post photos from shows.
