/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gifHere's a question for you guys. In my latest attempt to participate in the GRM $2005 Challenge, I was planning on building a '74 Spitfire. The car is a miserable pile-o-crap, also read very rusty. Locally, I found a '76 Midget which looks to be relatively straight and solid. What are the pros and cons. Either way, the cars will have a narrowed 9" and a Chevy smallblock. So I guess the question is, which cars have better front suspension? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Egad! The practical answer is neither one. The engine/trans setup you're taking about weighs waaay too much for the front suspension/unibody to handle without folding You're looking at a major re-design. If you're dead set on a V-8, consider a 215 aluminum block engine. Another favorite setup is to use an RX-7 rotary engine/trans.

Too bad you're not closer....I've got a relatively rust free '65 Midget body you can have for $100. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
