Spitfire Spitfire transmission cover installation question

Quick question folks;

In preparation for the SoCal TT I am finally installing the new transmission cover. My question is if I should install strips of a sealing material under the cover before I tighten it down.

What do you think/recommend?

By all means, YES....

You could add sheets of heat reflecting material to the inside as well.

Tom, TRF had seal kits available the last I knew. The reflective stuff is a good idea, too.

I already installed reflective heat shielding based on feedback from NASS (thanks Harve!), but didn't put the strips down.

I'll check those out and see what SpitBits has.

Nigel at Spitbits sells the sealing strip for about $11. I just got some. And yes, you need it.
